In 2007, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science(GIPS) began its operations as the first non-government pharmacy institute in the state of Assam. The college was established under the aegis of Shrimanta Shankar Academy(SSA)- a registered service organization, set up in 1992, to help the society and its youth progress through education.
GIPS lives by three values - Truth, Discipline, and Excellence. It aims to establish a morally sound education system that not only produces competent professionals, but also excellent human beings contributing towards the welfare of the society.
