International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March 2022 in our Institute with the theme ‘Gender equality today for sustainable tomorrow’, organized by Cultural Club and Women cell, GIPS. The Programme was started with the lighting of the lamp by Prof (Dr.) Gouranga Das, Principal, GIPS along with lady faculties of the institute. A welcome speech was delivered by Principal, GIPS highlighting the advantages of gender equality. Senior faculty Dr Smriti Rekha Chanda Das and Mrs Rupa Sengupta delivered a speech on the theme. An extempore speech competition has been conducted and girls along with boys participated in the competition. A cake-cutting ceremony was also conducted along with cultural events. All the girl students at the Institute were felicitated with a pen and sweet box as a token of love. The girl students also prepared a documentary on the theme. The programme was ended with a vote of thanks delivered by the Coordinator of Cultural club and Women cell Dr Smriti Rekha Chanda Das.
